For some people the Wednesday 26 October 2011 will be remembered as the day the All Blacks, our World Cup hero’s brought the World Cup trophy to town, But more importantly for 3 young Wellingtonians Daniel Howard, Gabriel O’Connell and Charlotte Elliott it was the day there achievements were rewarded at Government House. Once again the WDSA was thrilled to have returned to the now newly renovated, Government House for the annual Frances Clarke Memorial Awards. These awards recognise and encourage special achievements of people born with Down Syndrome in t he greater Wellington district. “It was again a very successful day; Lady Janine Mateparae did a fantastic job and made everyone feel very welcome. But what really stood out for me was how each of the recipients was so aware that this day was for them, holding the trophy above their head, in true world champion style” said Kate Young, Treasure Wellington Down Syndrome Association | ![]() Junior & Youth Be sure to check out our events calendar for more info on your next get together |
