World Down Syndrome Day 21st March 2015

What a lovely day we had celebrating World Down Syndrome Day with our annual Family Fun Day and sponsored Fun Walk.

This year it was held at Upper Hutt Primary School. The weather was perfect. We had fun and games for the whole family, bouncy castle, sausage sizzle, face painting and even a photo booth!

It was great to catch up with everyone and chat while we did our walk around the Primary School field. The children were all presented with a named certificate and we were entertained by the Viva group’s wonderful performance. We ended the day with our 21 balloon release!

Thanks for the support from those working hard in the lead up to the celebration, to the generous donors of raffle prizes and those racing around on the day. Charlotte Gendall was our fantastic MC, Dean did an amazing job getting the sound system working, Damon sizzled the sausages like a pro,  Margo from Lulu’s Body Art did the fabulous facepainting and it was so wonderful to see Hannah and the Viva members performing for us.

The generous prize donors were: InterIslander ferries, Pak 'n' Save, Countdown, Chocolate Hair, Staglands, Laughalots, Hangdog, Brew'd Eastbourne, Lush, Clive Chemist Wainuiomata, and Co-Ed cafe Lower Hutt.

We also want to thank Upper Hutt City Council for helping to fund this celebration and Upper Hutt Primary School that so generously allowed us to use their facilities.

Their generosity helped to make a fantastic afternoon of fun for everyone!
