WDSA Sponsored Walk 2013

The excellent March weather continued for our sponsored walk on Sunday 24th March.

This is WDSA’s only fund raising event of the year and a great opportunity to get our families together.

We started with a short 1km walk around Avalon Park, later presenting everyone with certificates and releasing 21 purple and orange balloons in recognition of Trisomy 21/ Down syndrome day.

There was a great turnout to the event and many families that happened to be at the park joined in to get their face painted or jump on our bouncy castle.

We were very fortunate to have all activities and prizes donated.

 Big thanks to:

  • Hutt City Council for giving permission to use Avalon Park
  • Lower Hutt Lions for putting the lion train on for free
  • Tommys for the use of their bouncy castle
  • Wainuiomata Rural Fire Bridge for letting the kids play with their fire trucks
  • Raffle Prizes donated by Salute Day Spa, Clive’s Pharmacy, Light House Cinemas, Circa Theatre, Te Papa and Tupperware
  • WDSA families for help with sausage cooking, face painting and general organisation
